People come to Cape Town from all over Africa to sell their arts and crafts. The markets and antique stores are filled with all kinds of objects and images. They are often beautifully made with simple, vital forms which suggests a tradition of art with a purpose beyond decoration.
The images below are taken from Colin's sketchbook, a hardback A4 book with quite thin pages. Using indian ink with dipping pen and brush you have to work pretty fast to get graded tones, especially in hot weather.
